Artificial Intelligence and law
Artificial Intelligence is a hot topic. It is seen as technology that can disrupt legal services. We can see a lot of new initiatives in the area. However there is also a lot of hype. The terms “artificial intelligence” or “AI” is used to describe not only really innovative solutions with some learning ability embed in but also old solutions that are just packed in a new attractive technology.
Knowledge base experts systems are good example. We know such systems and used them for many years but now, after packing them in a new interface, they are called AI solutions. In this way a simple checklist may be easily transformed into AI powered product.
Robo Lawyer is a simple algorithm packed into attractive form of Facebook Messenger’s chatbot. The original algorithm can be found here (please read the introduction to this algorithm too).
Robo Lawyer was created with the use of ChatFuel which enables building a chatbot without a real coding (though some knowledge of coding is useful). The whole process took me about 5-6 hours plus a few hours more for fine tuning.
I hope that you enjoyed talking to my Robo Lawyer and that your experience would encourage you to build your own robot that will give you some fun and which will be useful for others too. I would be glad to know that my Robo Lawyer inspired you to automate routine processes and to free resources for some really creative and innovative thinking.
Any thoughts or ideas? Problems with building your bot? Interested in new technologies in legal services? Want to share with me your experiences? Please contact me using your favorite communication tool.
